I was a little late on this release so forgive me.... Lagerfeld Confidential (Koch Lorber) is the best documentary I have ever seen. Mainly this film defies conventions. Unlike a lot of male fashion designers of his time, Karl Lagerfeld has all the gravitas of a judge at the Salem Witch Trials. with his mystique and dedication to work and his myth intact, Lagerfeld is a fascinating film subject. Weirdly likable, candid without being confessional Karl Lagerfeld weaves a spell like Vincent Price in his prime. Great stuff, wonderful weird quotes ("Fashion is ephemeral, dangerous, and unfair.") and a great primer on Edwardian collars....
